Never did I ever thought I would blog about dental floss

My dentist tells me to floss.

My mom tells me to floss.

Everyone tells me to floss but I hate to floss.

I have these set of teeth I would like to call train-wrecked rails 'coz they are so uneven and there is even this not-so-mild upper bite problem. The dentists I go to always ask if I would like to wear braces. But braces won't let me eat freely for 2 years, so my answer remains a big fat NO.

I hate flossing, but now Crest can officially call me their spokesperson 'coz ever since I met their Glide, I'm a changed woman.

See, this is smart. Changing something that has been the same for like thousands of years. Okay, just recently: Levi Spear Parmly, a dentist from New Orleans, is credited with inventing the first form of dental floss. He recommended that people should clean their teeth with silk floss in 1815 (source: wikipedia).

So, what has changed? Glide is not the same shape of thread like those in your sewing box. It's actually a flat string. Like a ribbon, or a Meepok. But it's still really thin so it still goes in between those impossible spaces between each tooth. The best part is, it doesn't cut you like those MOFO old-ass dinosaur dental floss.

Spit.

Those stupid string-cutters have made me bleed in pain. I hate them. I'm throwing away all the old dental floss I have. I have them 'coz I was pretending I floss. Now I don't have to anymore.

It was also one of the best thing that happened while I was on a family (not mine) trip to LA recently. It was sitting innocently in his sister's guestbathroom and since I have nothing to do the entire trip, I was snooping around and extending my own private time in the bathroom. I even took a picture of her floss on my cellphone so that I can remember what to get when I return.

I hope you guys have it in Singapore. Else I'll start selling them in my store for USD$10 each :p

This Is NYC.

Looks really fun huh? It was.

Le Sigh Shopping~

During the NYC trip, shopping was the main activity. And of coz' I couldn't not think of stocking stuff up for the shop.

One of the nicest neighborhood was The West Village and the highlight of the area was visiting the funny Marc by Marc Jacobs store. It's covered wall to wall with flowers outside and you wouldn't know unless you have been there. I remembered from the previous trips that it was at the corner right next to the infamous (but totally overrated) Magnolia Bakery.

So visit the shop if you're interested in these special items that aren't available in SG.

shitory

i just invented the word. means a horrible fucked up story—shit story.

angry little girl

work has been pissing me off. actually i really do like the things i do. i am very fortunate to have world-class, extremely snobbish, high-end, exclusive and some of the very top best service brands to be my clients and to have such great work included in my portfolio. it's great. it really is. but with great work comes great anger (i believe i shall be the first to coin such phrase).

such infuriating incidents that i am beginning to feel the toil on my body and soul. it's horrible when asked of someone else and they say that i seem always angry or sad at work. and that makes work work. it makes it really hard for the creative bone to prosper. it make sit really hard for me to care about my work. i am the sort of person who takes pride in the good work that i do but how do i do that when my team doesn't want to work as a team?

i don't know. with every smile they take away from me...............

adidas freak

Okay. I think it has been a while and that's why recently I had a Adidas freak-out. I bought just 4 pairs. Yes. Sorry mom. But I couldn't help it, especially the other 3 pairs I bought from Stella McCartney X Adidas.

First I bought the essential running shoe. It's funny how I own dozens of Adidas but none of them are for hard-core running. So I HAD to.
They dun look super cool, but they are functional and the dude at the store recommended them as he handed me a 10$ off coupon. So I paid about USD59 for these after taxes. And after 1 week, I was at the store again last night (will be explained later), he remembered me and asked if I went running. I hung my head in shame but Tadah! I finally went running tonight and feel super duper good right now.

So last night, at the same Adidas outlet, there was additional 25% off clearance items (I was at the outlets for official business btw). And the thing is, they chuck all the Stella McCartney stuff in a corner by the men's and kid's! WTH! If i weren't silly, I would never have ventured to that dark corner and find these amazing deals.....

Stella McCartney X Adidas Asheni in Black. Originally USD90. I paid USD11.21! They were half size too big but there is nothing the Dr, Scholl's gel soles can't do.

And then I bought these:

Stella McCartney X Adidas Fadeelah in Black. Original Price USD140. I paid USD14.96!!!

The price is really low. I cannot justify that I need more shoes. But when I see a sale like that, what's a girl gonna do?

Oh well, here comes the farked up part. I have bought so many Adidas that I can lose count sometimes. For the Stella McCartney X Adidas Fadeelah in Black, I actually already have a similar pair........
You can't tell right! But this is also Stella McCartney X Adidas Fadeelah, but in white! I bought it in early december for USD29.95 and I know I have it, but I didnt know it is the exact same model of the black pair I bought last night.

Jialat!

But I ish a happy girl :) My stacks of Adidas shoe boxes (I keep them) are almost reaching the ceiling.

life is strange

Today I was having a discussion with a friend about training dogs. He recommends the most effective dog training/punishment is time-out. Dogs are very social animals, and to take out their time from the ‘pack’, isolate them in a dark/small room kills them. For the closing, you have to let them out without any acknowledgment, as if nothing had happen, so that they know that they are ‘lucky’ to be forgiven.

People who tend to yell or hit their dogs will only induce fear, hatred and more ignorance.

Then tonight as I was going through my daily beauty routine, I thought about how similar that is to punishing humans. Think about the ultimate punishment—Jail. We take the offender and isolate them in individual cells. We limit their movement. We turn off their lights. We disallow any socialization. And when they leave, stone-faced prison guards open the gates of the blinding freedom. You don’t see buses of cheerleaders waiting for the newly-released. You would probably see some solemn but grateful family members. Or in most cases, no one.

Yay or Nay? I can't decide.

Honestly, my heart skipped like 5 beats when I first saw it. Then as I looked for more images online, I develop some doubts. The concept and idea is cool, it looks cool from the side but from the front via the first pic? No so much.

Wondering if I should spent $100 on these. You know me and my adidas.
