My dream is Alive!!!!

Taken from engadget:

Although PlayStation 2 / 3 and Xbox 360 owners have been living the dream for months, Wii owners can finally circle a date on their calender to undoubtedly be sick: June 22nd. As we expected, the title will indeed be adding Nintendo's darling to its tour 'round the consoles, but just like those pesky Ticketmaster fees, things aren't going to be all peaches and cream during the checkout process. For starters, Wii purchasers will be forced to swallow the "no downloadable content" and "no online multiplayer support" pills, and after those are down, they'll be forced to shell out $169.99 and know that their Wiimote won't have anything to do with the instruments (unlike Guitar Hero III's Wiimote-controlled axe). And no, your GHIII guitar most definitely won't play nice with Rock Band. Yes, that is the sound of your expectations being crushed.....

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Intermission

对不起!

Gomenasai!

sorrie sorrie.

Missy has been very very busy being a host to my 3 lovely ladies houseguest that I don't even have time to blog!

We had such a blast doing girlie stuff like doing one another's nails, fixing fancy hairdos (I feel like I have a live-in stylist), shopping, giggling, talking non-stop and taking showers together......opps.......ahem.....anyways....

Made a really quick 3 day trip to LA, stayed at Venice beach and played with Mickey + Goofy at Disneyland! I thought I am took old for this shit but I proved myself wrong, once again.

Photos will be coming up later as I still have Miss T with me (who just yelled out from the bedroom about something) and will have different batches of guests continously for the next 3 weeks (feel like I'm running Vegas' most exotic bed & breakfast!).

Plus hor, my special day is coming soon......so for now, I saying for now only lah, who cares about blogging! I actually have a life to enjoy!

Yay!

Meanwhile everyone behave okay?

p.s. It's finally turning warm here!

I collect pencils...

Stolen from Style Files who stole from Coolhunting:

"These chocolate pencils are the result of a collaboration between Japanese architect and designer Oki Sato and patissier Tsujiguchi Hironobu. The last one is the man behind Tokyo’s boutique dessert shops Mont St. Claire and Le Chocolat de H. Subtle tableware effectively displays the gourmet chocolate. The “pencils” come in a number of cocoa blends that vary in intensity, and chocophiles can use the special pencil sharpener that comes with the plate to grate chocolate onto their dessert."

And so they meet... ...

pic via damncoolpics

I haven't posted any pic of mr Big recently. He is alive. But a weekly trip to the pet store for crickets and worms led me to realizing that Mr Big's species is also called Chubby Frog. No wonder he is so fat. He bloody exploded twice his size when I fed him last night. Damn! I guess only penguins are smart enough to regulate their diets (thats what the aquarium-keeper at Monterey Bay said).

My Big in his red-light-districty heating lamp. Coz' it's winter and he needs to stay warm~

He ate so much that he stretch until he got a new white stretchmark on his back today. I hope it's just something dirty. I tried to clean it off but he don't let me. How can a frog has stretchmarks? How?

Sew how?

According to my 2008 resolution, I have to handmake or ask other ppl to hand make all the presents I am gifting this year. SO. I am trying lor~
The first one up is my dear Mom (very appropriate to be my guinea pig). So I decided to make a huge pillow case for her. I didn't realise exactly how long 28" is, but it is huge and well, she needs one for the pillow on her bed anyways. So I found this amy butler's free pillowcase pattern to follow and did some revisions base on my own preference (like the zipper closure).
I have to say sewing is actually very easy. Coz' there is the sewing machine! I would probably take me only half a day to finish this project but first I started with no sewing machine so I was sewing by hand. HA! Did I mention this is a 28" x 28" pillowcase? So then I decided to drive to Target to get the cheapest one they have. It's only $20 in the end. But I broke the needle after a while. Yes. It was intense.Monkey insisted on posing inside. Looks comfy.

So yeah, my mom received the pillowcase. Haven't had the chance to ask for her critique but in the end my papa told me that he is the one who lies on the pillow more than her -_-"

Second project up is for Couz Mingming. And this NYC/Providence trip was gladly planned to coincide with her Bday. And I am glad my new sewing guide book has a very appropriate pattern gift for her — A Tool Kit for the artist.

In the end I think I did a pretty good job this round. It turned out very easy and I added the red button for a little of MY flair. The only thing I regretted was making the pockets too shallow so I change the design by leaving the top open for her to put in anything bigger.

Impressed?

You can leave me a comment if you have something you want me to make for your bday or I will be choosing it. I think my next projects will be a ton of bday presents for the girls, baby gifts and custom curtains for a friend's VW bus... exciting!

People think I got a lot of time. I think so too~

update: found another related one! Stuff Asian People Like
(thanks Dr. Hu)

I don't know if you guys have jumped on the bandwagon and started reading this blog everyday (thanks for the link takko), but I have.

I even checked out the 500+ comments on this post.

Taken from: Stuff White People Like

#78 Multilingual Children
"All white people want their children to speak another language. There are no exceptions. They dream about the children drifting in between French and English sentences as they bustle about the kitchen while they read the New York Times and listen to Jazz."

LOL!

And my favourite closing from that post:
"There is only one way to use this information to your advantage: speaking another language means that white people are more likely to want to have children with you. It is seen as a cheaper alternative to language schools."

No wonder I am so popular~

But I am not done yet. Someone just started a new blog in response to this blog.
