shitory

i just invented the word. means a horrible fucked up story—shit story.

angry little girl

work has been pissing me off. actually i really do like the things i do. i am very fortunate to have world-class, extremely snobbish, high-end, exclusive and some of the very top best service brands to be my clients and to have such great work included in my portfolio. it's great. it really is. but with great work comes great anger (i believe i shall be the first to coin such phrase).

such infuriating incidents that i am beginning to feel the toil on my body and soul. it's horrible when asked of someone else and they say that i seem always angry or sad at work. and that makes work work. it makes it really hard for the creative bone to prosper. it make sit really hard for me to care about my work. i am the sort of person who takes pride in the good work that i do but how do i do that when my team doesn't want to work as a team?

i don't know. with every smile they take away from me...............

adidas freak

Okay. I think it has been a while and that's why recently I had a Adidas freak-out. I bought just 4 pairs. Yes. Sorry mom. But I couldn't help it, especially the other 3 pairs I bought from Stella McCartney X Adidas.

First I bought the essential running shoe. It's funny how I own dozens of Adidas but none of them are for hard-core running. So I HAD to.
They dun look super cool, but they are functional and the dude at the store recommended them as he handed me a 10$ off coupon. So I paid about USD59 for these after taxes. And after 1 week, I was at the store again last night (will be explained later), he remembered me and asked if I went running. I hung my head in shame but Tadah! I finally went running tonight and feel super duper good right now.

So last night, at the same Adidas outlet, there was additional 25% off clearance items (I was at the outlets for official business btw). And the thing is, they chuck all the Stella McCartney stuff in a corner by the men's and kid's! WTH! If i weren't silly, I would never have ventured to that dark corner and find these amazing deals.....

Stella McCartney X Adidas Asheni in Black. Originally USD90. I paid USD11.21! They were half size too big but there is nothing the Dr, Scholl's gel soles can't do.

And then I bought these:

Stella McCartney X Adidas Fadeelah in Black. Original Price USD140. I paid USD14.96!!!

The price is really low. I cannot justify that I need more shoes. But when I see a sale like that, what's a girl gonna do?

Oh well, here comes the farked up part. I have bought so many Adidas that I can lose count sometimes. For the Stella McCartney X Adidas Fadeelah in Black, I actually already have a similar pair........
You can't tell right! But this is also Stella McCartney X Adidas Fadeelah, but in white! I bought it in early december for USD29.95 and I know I have it, but I didnt know it is the exact same model of the black pair I bought last night.

Jialat!

But I ish a happy girl :) My stacks of Adidas shoe boxes (I keep them) are almost reaching the ceiling.

life is strange

Today I was having a discussion with a friend about training dogs. He recommends the most effective dog training/punishment is time-out. Dogs are very social animals, and to take out their time from the ‘pack’, isolate them in a dark/small room kills them. For the closing, you have to let them out without any acknowledgment, as if nothing had happen, so that they know that they are ‘lucky’ to be forgiven.

People who tend to yell or hit their dogs will only induce fear, hatred and more ignorance.

Then tonight as I was going through my daily beauty routine, I thought about how similar that is to punishing humans. Think about the ultimate punishment—Jail. We take the offender and isolate them in individual cells. We limit their movement. We turn off their lights. We disallow any socialization. And when they leave, stone-faced prison guards open the gates of the blinding freedom. You don’t see buses of cheerleaders waiting for the newly-released. You would probably see some solemn but grateful family members. Or in most cases, no one.

Yay or Nay? I can't decide.

Honestly, my heart skipped like 5 beats when I first saw it. Then as I looked for more images online, I develop some doubts. The concept and idea is cool, it looks cool from the side but from the front via the first pic? No so much.

Wondering if I should spent $100 on these. You know me and my adidas.

CHEMISTRY OF MAN AND WOMAN

Copied from some farney website
———

Element Name: WOMAN

Symbol: WO

Atomic Weight: ( don't even go there!)

Physical Properties: Generally round in form. Boils at nothing and may freeze any time. Melts whenever treated properly. Very bitter if not used well.

Chemical properties: Very active. Highly unstable. Possesses; strong affinity to gold, silver, platinum, and precious stones. Violent when left alone. Able to absorb great amounts of exotic food. Turns slightly green when placed next to a better specimen.

Usage: Highly ornamental. An extremely good catalyst for dispersion of wealth. Probably the most powerful income reducing agent known.

Caution: Highly explosive in inexperienced hands.

------------------------------------------------------

Element Name: MAN

Symbol: XY

Atomic Weight: (180 +/- 50)

Physical properties: Solid at room temperature, but gets bent out of shape easily. Fairly dense and sometimes flaky. Difficult to find a pure sample. Due to rust, aging samples are unable to conduct electricity as easily as young samples.

Chemical properties: Attempts to bond with WO any chance it can get. Also tends to form strong bonds with itself. Becomes explosive when mixed with Kd ( Element: Child) for prolonged period of time.

Usage: None known. Possibly good methane source. Good samples are able to produce large quantities on command .

Caution: In the absence of WO, this element rapidly decomposes and begins to smell.

From Where I Sat - An Unscientific Roundup
Katie Connolly

I was fortunate enough to be in the Orange section of the crowd at today's inauguration ceremony--yep, right down the front, on the southwest side of the Capitol. I couldn't really see much, and you've probably seen the best shots on TV already and heard the enormous applause and spontaneous "O-ba-ma" and "Yes We Can" chants. But for those who weren't lucky enough to be in the crowd, I thought you might enjoy a completely unscientific wrap-up of what I heard in the crowd around me.

  • Person who got a surprisingly passionate series of boos: Joe Lieberman
  • Person who got a surprisingly enthusiastic cheer: Colin Powell
  • Person who I thought would get a few cheers but was greeted with silence: John McCain
  • Person who elicited the funniest heckles: Dick Cheney
  • Person who got an uncomfortable spattering of golf claps and a few boos (and many boos in other sections): George W. Bush
  • People outside of the Obama family who got the biggest cheers: Bill and Hillary Clinton
  • Former official, outside of the Clinton family, who got the biggest cheers: Al Gore
  • Line of Obama's speech that elicited the biggest cheer (in my section): "We say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you."
  • Runner up for most popular line (amongst people in my section): "Know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy."
  • Most amusing insult to naughty people trying to cut in line: "Obama can see you!"
  • Loudest exclamation of relief as Marine One took off, carrying Former President Bush one last time: "I can breathe again!"
Sorry I lost where I got this article from, so I don't have the link :(

Contrary to popular belief,

I did actually have a nice group of local friends who are not Chinese at all, but accepted my invite to join me for a super nice Chinese New Year's eve reunion dinner.

The only Chinese thing about that night is me and the fact that it is Chinese New Year's Eve. Otherwise, we had Japanese food. Haha. There is the choice between Sukiyaki and Shabu-Shabu. I picked the former. And then Lissy had to break out into the song:" It's all because of you. I'm feeling sad and blue. You went away, now my love is just a rainy day......" Dude, do you guys remember this cover hit by 4 P.M. back in the hey days of the early 90s?

Anyways.

It was a little hard to DIY coz the pot was a little far from the table. My hands were getting tired pretty quick. But in the spirit of the festive season, I stopped complaining. And the weird thing is we have to sit in a row. This is my right side of my friends. Below is the left side of the dinner. It was a bit inconvenience to chat. But we just yell around. I'm quite happy and grateful.

So I guess Facebook is to stay...

in my life indefinitely 'coz I think my social life is fairly dependent on it. Especially being thousands of miles away from a pretty big chunk of them.

Everyone I presume has their fair share of awkward or upsetting experiences—sending wrong messages, viewing your exes' new photos with their new partners, deleted/blocked by your friend, rejected/ignored to be added as a friend and/or having to add someone as your friend even though he/she is just an acquaintance or someone you haven't said more than 5 words to.

So recently I got a friend request. FB automatically sends me an email notification and when I was reading it, I thought:"Who the fark is this?"

Then I had to log in to FB to read it again.

I laughed really hard and I was at my work desk.

First, we have no friends in common (read=nothing in common. Thank God!).

Second, if you do have those illicit thoughts in your head, don't try to befriend a girl when your profile picture obviously shows you posing intimately with your ignorant wife/unlucky ex-gf/latest female victim.

Lastly, if you want to befriend someone on FB based on superficial reasons, at least write a message stating your cause. This guy did such a compelling job, he made my day!

"FREAK ME, BABY."

I have no idea what that means. Does he want me to freak him out? Like scare him? Maybe I will just buy an air-ticket to Hawaii so I can make him jump out of his skin in the middle of the night with me wielding a Ninja sword. I think I need a hawaiian vacation anyways.

Ha ha.

Then again, what if Edwin is not the man pictured, but the woman instead?

totally random questions

What happened to winter? it's mid-Jan and I have my balcony windows open to a 20 C degrees outside. Perfect (air-conditioned) weather.

Found a tiny mole few inches under my right breast while soaping. When I scratch it, a spot on the bottom of my right elbow tingles. I did it 3 times just to make sure. Can anyone explain this phenomena?

Unintentionally caused some anxiety amongst friends when I removed the relationship status indicator on my FB, only to be unlisted as "no longer single". Have I been single for too long? yes

What can I do with all these shoes?

Was described as "tough" by my new superior after being the only one (forced) to express how I felt about recent work/departmental changes (I had to restrain myself from how I really felt). I think he meant "hard to manage" instead and probably red-flagged me. Should I care?

Can I just meet a normal guy for once?

Only just realised, after like a hundred years, that I had cruelly and stupidly hurt someone that I shouldn't have. Will I ever get a chance to make amends?

Should I spend my birthday here or in San Francisco?

Black or Brown?
